im sure theres the whole "experience" to it
but im not paying to subject myself to painfully simple/generic music played at a ridiculous volume to feel "THE ESSENCE OF THE NOTES"
its poorly played and makes for uncomfortable listening
theres a reason they crank their amps up
the music just isnt very good
the viscerality of the experience stems from the volume, not the music
might as well listen to jets taking off
I dunno, I adore Kyuss, Electric Wizard, and Sleep, but I also adore Boris. I dunno, maybe I'm a bit more versatile in taste. Kyuss' Welcome to the Sky Valley is musical PERFECTION. \m/

but this just seems like they are covering old ground poorly
my honest opinion
weak playing weak melodies disjointed sound and laughable solos
i just expect better guitar out of a guitar centric band
thats the shred fan in me talking tho
combine my love thick powerful tones and shred skill

its players like zakk wylde jimi hendrix and satriani
who mix technical playing and strange guitar tricks and noises like all sorts of harmonics and whammy dives/pitch modulations
this wata character does not fall into this catagory
she makes noise, but shred she does not
are you inferring that im a nerd?
including that information would be irrelevant otherwise

you have speed and neoclassical confused with shred there
i don't know that there are 'official' according to hoyle definitions of what separates speed, neoclassical, and shred. back when i took lessons, a lot of the teachers used those terms as interchangable. i wasn't inferring anything about you at all about you.
however, the sheer number of comments you attach to boris videos, when you clearly hate them is a little creepy and probably time wasted. i won't reply to anymore of your comments- you 'win'.
dont pretend you have any knowledge to impart to me

the styles share a common root and a few key aspects but they are by no means interchangable
