Wow! I see more and more limeys are getting angry with the comments on this video!
Have you all finaly realized that The Clash and The 'Pistols are just a marketing tool?
For some reason, limeys can't bring themselves to realize it, punk doesn't have ANYTHING to do with any style, any look, and sound. And it aint even really a way of life, its a attitude.
And this guys attitude is faaaake son.

Riiiiight, which is why when it comes right down to the facts, the Ramones created the genre, AND the sound. You cannot deny that.
Ramones live at The Roudhouse is a "legendary" concert, how many Pistols gigs are considerd "legendary"?
Just because everyone knows who a band is or what they look like doesn't mean a thing.
The ONLY reason the Pistols were so well knows was because they were THE MOST COMMERCIAL.

Seems to me James Osterberg (Iggy) was doing it in 1969 which temporally speaking is way before ramones or pistols. Note the pistols cover of `no fun` by the iggy + the stooges. There`s your evidence for punk firsts.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. I know people from the Aussie and LA scenes who say bands like Black Flag and the Saints didn't even know who the sex pistols were when they started. The Ramones were established and drew crowds wherever they went, and every major punk band cites them as an influence. It'd have a face, believe me, it just wouldn't be a kid with liberty spikes holding up his middle finger.
