So why did US Cellular not support the USA and instead have this ad filmed in South Africa, quite possibly one of the most violent nations on earth with 22% of the population infected with AIDS?

u need to take that stick out of ur ass and get out more cause there are many, many places better than USA's cities (not saying that those USA cities are bad) maybe instead of going to chicage or new york for ur vacation, u can go to a city in south africa or africa in general and learn about their people and culture. then u can think about wat u just said.

That is a complete load of garbage. US Cellular, as in "United States of America" should have its commercials filmed within its home nation. US Cellular phones won't even work in South Africa so they weren't even representing the product accurately.

If you guys saw Mo the Meerkat pimping up Vodacom and it was clear that the commercial was filmed in the USA, I would want you to be very upset. That would be disrespecting to see Voda pass up the chance to film in Pretoria, Durban, Capetown, or anywhere else within your nation. Same with MTN or Cell C, these are your companies and to their credit they do an outstanding job of supporting SA. I just feel that American companies should support my nation by filming the commercial here.

im not from south africa, im american. and alls im saying is that i dont think it matters where us cellular films there dang commercials. all that matters is that it brings in costomers for them. and just because they film a commercial ANYWHERE but the USA, they are still a USA company, trying to attract american people. so they ARE, in fact, representing the USA.

It amazes me how everyone will jump on anything they can to bash a company. I have a friend that works there and to me it is much more important to call and know that a company provides me customer service from my own country vs speaking to someone in India named "Sam". If finding where they film their commericals is the biggest complaint you can find give the company credit for the others things they do that no one does anymore!

Are you people crazy? Dont you see how INSANE this commercial is? Drummer in middle of the street playing and no one around him like if you are the only 1 that can see the ghost, the possessed teddy bear, the dude in the beginning that stares at the guy on the phone like if he's about jump the guy for it, and people gathering in the streets to see fireworks in middle of the day?? Not that there wasnt even color! You guys are nuts;|
