How is this fake? I believe that it did take them several days to orbit the moon if I remember correctly. What is it that confuses you? Gravity acts as a slingshot force for satellites, that's why they were able to orbit it. Some of this is fictionalized but I believe for the most part, this is how it really happened.

This film is one of many demonstration discs that I use with (PCM dts six-track THX laserdisc the bass level is nuts on the LCRS while LFE.1 track engages with different parts of the film mix to add dramatic acoustical realism.

With movie like this you really need a Behringer DCX2496 loudspeaker management crossover system to give a far smoother control over the LCR fronts that should matching identical speakers. The directional sounds over LCR are very complex on this film with gantry arms pulling away form the mighty Saturn V until it launch that thunders loudly on screen left then moving to centre and so.

How is it too "Hollywoodized"? Ken Mattingly (Gary Sinise) being so close to the tower is probably the biggest Hollywood moment in that sequence. Almost all the other changes/differences were minutia.
