The phrasing and key changes in this song are so complex, I still have trouble singing along, although I have loved this song for years. And that lyric: We love our lovin' (but) not like we love our freedom. Absolute insight! Who hasn't felt that tension between commitment and freedom? One of the eternal songs.

Ah-- doesn't it feel good to sing this? I'm 39 and I remember listing to it on the radio, my mother singing along. I'd get mad at her for sining to fast because I didn't quite get the words. She'd pick me up and laugh and kiss me. Now I do the same with my little ones and we dance around. What uplifting joy there is in this song!
