If a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame existed where you actually got in based on your contributions and impact, not based on lobbying and favoritism, of course Wanda would be there. Until then, how long will we have to wait for her to get her due? Oh well, at least until then we can check her out on youtube, or better yet, make a trip and see her live. Her voice is still clear and powerful and you'll leave knowing you've seen something special.

The sort of men that control the distribution of popular music in the USA get a good going over in Alex Constantine's book 'the covert war against rock' and that's only part of the answer why you may not be familiar with her until recently.
