Alasdair Fraser Playing The Oldest Scottish Made Fiddle
Uploaded by: PrvtPilot707
Video Description:
The fiddle Alasdair is playing was made by Robert Duncan in 1740. Duncan was believed to have made instruments between 1730 and 1780 in Margarets Leith's Court, Upperkirkgate in Aberdeen. According to several experts this one is the oldest known Scottish made fiddle in the world. Strange to think it was made when Stradivarius was still alive.
