He is best known for his theory of relativity and specifically mass-energy equivalence, E = mc2. Einstein received the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics "for his services to Theoretical Physics, and especially for his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect."[1]
Einstein's many contributions to physics include his special theory of relativity, which reconciled mechanics with electromagnetism, and his general theory of relativity, which extended the principle of relativity to non-uniform motion, creating a new theory of gravitation. His other contributions include relativistic cosmology, capillary action, critical opalescence, classical problems of statistical mechanics and their application to quantum theory, an explanation of the Brownian movement of molecules, atomic transition probabilities, the quantum theory of a monatomic gas, thermal properties of light with low radiation density (which laid the foundation for the photon theory), a theory of radiation including stimulated emission, the conception of a unified field theory, and the geometrization of physics.

No offence but i don't think you actualy know what your own question is lol. Simpmle. If you could orbit Earth at the speed of light (wich is imposible in reality) you could be stuck in year 2008 wile the rest of us keep going in time. your "watch" would not be moving wile mine will. Make sense?

I'm not talking specifically about at the speed of light so get off of that. I'm talking about IN GENERAL, what does it mean for "time" to slow down or speed up? You still don't understand my question.

omg lol thats what the theory of relativity is man. TIME IS RELATIVE. time varies on ones motion. if one speeds up that means time slows down thats what Einsteins formula says and his theory.

Actually imermetaj, if you could travel around the earth at close to the speed of light, and you looked at your watch, it would still appear to be ticking at its normal rate. Special relativity says that a stationary observer would notice that your watch isnt ticking at all. a moving watch and a stationary watch both tick at different rates relative to the moving observer.

YOU AREN'T LISTENING.WHAT DOES A CHANGE IN TIME MEAN? I don't understand what a change in time means. Time is just a measure of a clock's hand movement, so what is time slowing down/speeding up?

albert einstein never existed - a radical but powerful political group called the freiednek triangle from greenland developed him as a concept in the 1890s, they still have some power today, the dates on the video we saw don't add up actually..

I would claim that i'm not stoned because i'm not experiencing any of the acute effects of smoking cannabis which include euphoria, increased appetite, anxiety, short-term memory loss. However I would say that the comment that you posted would indicate to a certain extent that you were under the influence of some sort of psychoactive drug, or you have a really, really liberal imagination.

I would and do point out though that your criticism(?) of having a 'really, really liberal imagination' (though I'm afraid not liberal enough to know what 'really, really' entails)is telling that perhaps your quite narrow minded? or perhaps you agree with me? Against popular belief smoking cannabis actually increases ones awareness and knowledge of myth. I recently smoked a huge bifta and also discovered that Albert Einstein did not exist. I don't really like the term 'stoned' hellgas0 as it has negative connotations and I personally have found my experiences very positive. I hope my contribution to this discussion will help us move past this disagreement and address the real problem here... did Einstein ever exist?

this is a verry smart movie because im actualy illiterrirt and i cant read or spell or do math but i understand einsteins work verry well.. instantly, and wholesomely infact. yeah, thats amazing!!! and goze to show that school is not for everybody but i dont recomend ditching school dispite finding out that you think with physicality rather than the more common way of thinking witch is not thinking at all. -i suggest that unless you are stupid by everyday standards you cannot ever be truly smart

I have a question, and hopefully someone can answer in simple terms. In the example used in this video, with the 90 degree mirror and the simultaneous strikes of the lightning bolts, shouldn't the observer in the train have seen the seen the bolts strike simultaneously and not one before the other. My reasoning is that the speed of light is the same for everyone, whether in motion or not, hence his forward motion towards the light would have made no difference. What am I missing? Thanks

If you take a moment and think about the key piece that Einstein understood. If the Speed of light is constant and not time than if a speeding train were to actually see the 2 bolt hit at the same time than the lighting bolt the train is moving towards would have to slow down to allow for the second bolt to appear to hit at the same time just like the observer standing still or visa versa.
