so what's the point of this phone if you can only use the wifi service with a subscription? Is there a wifi phone on the market that let's you make calls over your own wifi signal so you don't pay for it or don't use minutes?

No WiFi means that you can connect to the internet through a wireless 802.11 signal. Like a home wireless network. It does not give you a permanent data connection. You will have to pay extra for that.

on all blackberrys if u use blackberry manager u can use wavs mp3s and all kinds of audio files. I use both wavs for voices and mp3 for songs
