I used to be a big fan of Harry. In fact, this used to be my favorite Muppet number, until I found out about his politics. gildone84 accused me of being unable to "tolerate any sort of diversity of opinion". Yet my comments have been hidden by default due to people clicking "thumbs down", while opinions contrary to mine are still visible. How odd. Somebody can't tolerate diversity of opinion. Looks like it's the people who disagree with me. I'm 100 percent sure Harry would be pleased.

Most of us came to this video to remember a great man, not to listen to yet more political rhetoric. I think people are missing the point of Belafonte's story here. He's saying that for Jim Henson, the potential volatility of the political message didn't matter; he just loved the song and its message of our common humanity.

I am very thankful for Mr. Belafonte's words. I was part of that "First Generation of Muppet" watchers, and most people do not realize how revolutionary Sesame Street/ Henson's Workshop was not only then, but even now. Read "Sesame Street: Unpaved"...the amount of thought and social awareness behind character development for that children's program is phenomenal. Henson was not merely a puppeteer, but a pioneer in "edutainment" and, dare I say it - a revolutionary. RIP, Jim
