Altogether, $ ... ( 7 months ago by MyOverflow)
Altogether, $cientology has those 2 things. The first is a simple Psychological ploy to make themselves look like the virtuous victims (they seem to be very good at playing that role). The second is the fact that maybe a couple hundred Anonymous are hackers, and, since the public has so many misconceptions of what real hackers are, they're tricked into believing Scientology.
Just a quick note: ... ( 7 months ago by MyOverflow)
Just a quick note: I say Scientology rather than Church of Scientology to save character space (those 3 messages barely fit into the character limit). If you ever read any comment made by me where I say Scientology, assume that it says Church of Scientology.
I have nothing against the religion, and I even encourage people to believe it (Freezone is Scientology without the business), I'm just against the business behind it, and the deaths/ruined lives related to that business.
After the potential ... ( 7 months ago by jnycnuk)
After the potential convert -- or to quote Hubbard, the "raw meat" -- registers, he is directed to a converted classroom to hear a Scientology lecture that sounds like a cross between a Jehovah's Witness pep talk about the Day of Doom and the spiel of a used car salesman

They process was ... ( 7 months ago by truvelocity)
They process was that my Uncle, a scientologist, convinced me to do an E meter auditing and then to pay for the first course. That is the source of the funding. My books and course were given back and I was getting phone calls to attend the course but I wouldn't go. My Uncle then tried to black mail me by writing crimes that my husband committed, like smoking a little marijuana to relax and fighting him verbally to not allow me into the church.
The only thing I ... ( 7 months ago by truvelocity)
The only thing I agree with when it comes to Scientology is the corruption of Psychiatric SSRI inhibitors. Unfortunately, where there is some truth, it gets buried because of the overwhelming corrupted Scientology practice. In affect, you have pharmaceutical reps stating "Anyone against psychiatric drugs are Scientologists" - And that is an unfair statement, because they are overused and they do cause brain damage in long term use.
CoS has been ... ( 7 months ago by AnonOutreach)
CoS has been hacking/spamming/DDosing for YEARS. Plus suing when hacking doesn't work.
They have a history of it [see ToryMagoo talking about it] yet they whinge and whine if someone does it back.
More than a bit hypocritical wouldn't you say?

They will truthfully deplete your bank account. If you want to hear from a Ex-Scientologist, check out Torymagoo44. She was in the Cult for over 30 years, and has been out for 7.

I think it's important to an extreme degree. I've been following this stuff since 06 when John Saffran did a report on Scientology. Some of the stuff scares the crap out of me but now I've risen above the fear and really want to help out

Very good analogy, I've read the thing he said about 'raw meat' somewhere
The way to destroy ... ( 7 months ago by rametarin)
The way to destroy the corruption:
1.) Address your government with concerns about the malpractice of medicine. Dianetics and the e-meter are not intended to treat, diagnose, etc anything.
2.) Have the Scientologist auditors investigated for practicing medicine without a license.
3.) Bring into question the Church of Scientology's status as a religion. It operates under the tax exemption of a church, and under the profiteering of a corporation. Making them one or the other destroys them.
The financial base ... ( 7 months ago by deadacc24156)
The financial base of the Church is the sale of its (useless) materials on as many fronts as possible. One front is internal; milking the followers. They also attempt to sell Hubbard Tech as an educational system, as a management science, as a substitute for medical help...the list goes on.
One way to help is to work to inoculate society against their crap. You can do a lot by digging around and exposing Hubbard Tech wherever it pops up -- Applied Scholastics, Way to Happiness, etc, etc...
AnonOutreach, I ... ( 7 months ago by MyOverflow)
AnonOutreach, I know that $cientology has been doing these things, but it still doesn't make Anonymous look good after it happened, because the media only wanted to look at the "religiously-bigoted cyber terrorists bent on destroying everyone's rights" rather than the "vigilant justice seekers who want to stop a cult" (terror > justice in ratings).
I was only using the DDoS attacks as an example as to how $cientology tries to cover it's ass, and make any critics look like a group of criminals.

deadacc:
Actually the primary financial base for CoS has been it's so-called "services" such as auditing and not solid "materials". Without those no one would purchase the materials.
You're right that innoculation via internet information is hurting their business.
THAT is their Achilles heel.
Having been ... ( 7 months ago by AnonOutreach)
Having been involved in more than my share of dissenting activities, I can assure you that those kinds of labels are attached to almost every new dissenting group that comes along, regardless of the truth of the matter.
At the time dissent rears up, the targeted group/authority is holding the media power.
They then use this to attack the dissenting group.
When the dissenters stay calm and reasonable then the media smells blood, they join the attack.
Sad, but true.

Because the general public is afraid of their computers the word "hacker" scares the h*ll out of them.

we can stop the funding of $cientoligy through two ways:
-cut them off from new members
-take away their religous status so they have to pay taxes
