We do care, but I think most of our youth are too jaded by politics to think thier opinion matters. Also, as an aside, just b/c other demographics are voting doen't neccesarily mean they are more informed.

Excellent, thank you Rick Mercer! So, if you don't vote, you don't exist. Which is our point at Strong Families Inc: if students vote, their concerns will eventually be addressed by their elected officials. And what if children had a vote, a voice in the legislature? Would their needs and interests be taken more seriously by politicians? Check it out at our site, when you can (it ends in org).

Its not that we are jaded, although that may be part of it. Alot of us are uninformed, or, in my case, and my friends cases (although I did vote) it is just that it is extremely inconvenient. I personally spend alot of time (~50%) on campus, and yet I was not allowed to vote on campus, so I had to walk to some random school to vote. It took me a while to find it, and that time could have been spent studying for my many midterms. I know for a fact that that is why some of my friends didnt vote.

i think a big problem is that canadian elections are too fast and not in the media enough. as much as the american elections are WAY too long at least its rammed down your throat and you know the party platforms.
