I agree that we need to build up the Libertarian Party. However, in my view Gravel would be just one more in a long line of LP presidential candidates---Browne, Badnarik, et al--who is likeable, does not have the charisma or star power to pull in the votes.
I'm not TRASHING Gravel, I just don't think he has the right stuff.
Bob Barr would be a stronger LP candidate, although in my opinion he'd need campaign steroids as well.
What the LP really needs is a big celebrity to run.

I don't think so. You're right, I don't think he'll win either. It is unfortunate that it takes Celebrity to make a win. It's the old hierarchy of personality over principle. Change will happen. The Libertarians are moving forward in stages. It often happens that 'proltariat' stays silent for some time till suddenly a mass revolt happens. (I use the term 'proltariat' figuratively, as revolts have taken place before. People are gradually coming around silently. Liberty will break through...

...I only hope we don't have to wait till it comes to a violent, bloody revolt against those who are stacking the deck in an underhanded manner. They're treating us all as though we're stupid, and we're getting pissed off. If the military industrial complex insists on continuing this, it will get messy down the road. I don't want to see that. Those kind of revolts don't end well. An intellectual revolt is more effective. Keep learning. Don't depend on government provided education to teach it.

How about the actual evidence? Your statement about prices going up sometimes is correct. Finland has government paid education all the way to the university level and they have the best educated children in the world.
