Shit, if it weren't for people like Bob Dylan (and those inspired by his music) as well as Black Sabbath's "War Pigs" (the first popular metal track), Vietnam might have gone on for much longer. Hahaha, your stupid. This song is not a protest song against protest songs. It's just expressing the fact that even though there are people against the war making songs about it, including Against Me! if you knew anything about them, but they don't always get heard in full force and accepted socially. Do you even know why MLK Jr. was assasinated? He was trying to take the front in the anti-Vietnam movement but people starting judging his loyalty and patriotism because he was against the war.

MLK was also killed because his politics were evolving into a serious questioning of the capitalist system that the powers that be found very dangerous. He had also began to seriously be a unionist power.

I couldn't disagree more. Imagine having power over something and then having that something try to overcome you. This is the viewpoint of whites during the civil rights movement. And as skewed as it may be, it's certainly enough to get that movement's leader shot.

MLK was not shot when he became a huge civil rights figure. He was also only the leader of a certain period of the civil rights movement which had roots in the early 1900s (1909 I think) and kept going after MLK's death. When he was killed his influence was huge, if they were so worried about his influence as a civil rights leader they would have shot him much earlier, but instead they shot him as he was becoming a labor and a revolutionary leader as well as addressing the issue of war.
