Video Description:
The Foo Fighters are an American rock band formed by musician Dave Grohl in 1995. The group is named after the World War II term "foo fighter", used to refer to mysterious aerial phenomena.
The band has earned a worldwide following, and have scored a number of hit songs, including "This Is a Call", "Everlong", "Learn to Fly", "All My Life", "Times Like These", "Best of You", "DOA", and "The Pretender". Two of their albums, There Is Nothing Left to Lose and One by One, won Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album. On top of their six studio albums, they have also contributed to several movie soundtracks, including the song "The One" on the 2002 Orange County soundtrack.
"Times Like These" is the second single released from the Foo Fighters' fourth album One by One. It was released on two main discs in 2003. It is in 4/4 time but includes 7/4 irregular time signature timing in the intro. The lyric "I'm a new day rising" is a reference to an album by Hüsker Dü, one of Dave Grohl's favourite groups. After the album version ended its run on the charts, an acoustic version of the song was released, and had some success on pop and AC radio.
The song was used by George W. Bush for his 2004 re-election campaign. When Dave Grohl found out about it, it prompted him and the rest of the band to get more politically active, and they helped John Kerry's campaign as a result. It was featured in the trailer for the film The Benchwarmers, the soundtrack for American Wedding, and SPEED Channel's season-ending montage for its coverage of the 2006 Formula One Season. The acoustic version of the song has been used at the end of an episode of the drama television series Jericho and in an episode of One Tree Hill, in which the main characters graduate from high school. US pop and R &B singer JoJo covered it in Jo Whiley's Radio 1 show Live Lounge.

having said that, i think Dave dedicated it to Al to give thanks for him to have organized a great event and raising awareness for a great cause and bringing together a great bunch of musicians for a great day.
If Al Gore was president 4,000 brave soldiers would still be alive today, instead of dead. If Al Gore was president 30,000 brave soldiers would not have been wounded.
^^
let me guess...gore would've sounded less like a drunken inbred cowboy ("we're gonna smoke 'em out" etc) in the aftermath.
people like you convince the rest of the world that americans are pathetic fucking retards - please promote some of your intellectuals rather than the mentally bankrupt, obese, deadshit cuntpumps we only ever seem to hear about.
