This is a music slideshow I made for the song 'Suicide is Painless' by Marilyn Manson. This version of the song was released as the soundtrack of 'Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2' in 2000. It was also released in 2002 on Marilyn Manson's 'Tainted Love' single.
The song was written by Johnny Mandel (music) and Mike Altman (lyrics), and is best known for being featured as the theme song for both the movie and TV series M*A*S*H.

Marilyn Manson didn't even write this song. Just like Sweet Dreams it is a cover. It's an old song from the movie and TV show M*A*S*H. In the movie they play it at a mock funeral and it became the title theme for the series. The lyrics are actually very deep for the Korean War era. I believe that it's about suicide in a particular persons point of view. How suicide is painless compared to their life as it is at that time.

I am that 16 year old kid. I see your point, but there are more kids that listen to there lyrics who think of them as just songs, than those unfortunate few that take it the wrong way, but to be honest, it's the same with most music now, rappers singing about shooting people, Pete Dogherty. and usually the ones that do take things too far, there are other aspects that people overlook, like drug use.
