This was no doubt a strange situation for Jeff. He's the rookie sitting in with an attorney who's said to be far more experienced than himself so he just allows the asshole to badger the accused.

He did ok. He obviously should have reviewed when it is ok to instruct a witness not to answer, determine what the issues are, and stick to his guns when instructing her not to answer. The worst that can happen is he gets sanctioned and the witness gets re-examined. Still better than allowing your client to get sexually-harrassed by an attorney (and, possibly admit to a crime for some of those questions). A judge is highly unlikely to sanction an attorney under this line of questioning.
