him when I was 14 --- [he's a first cousin
of my mother and uncle]. Had I known he was
such an important figure in jazz --- I would have paid greater attention to him. Thank you for the work you put into this video.

ability, he was underrated by the music

I love Hank Mobley, I realy think he was an Originator in Jazz. I recently discoverd why I have a facination for him, I was born the exact day that he passed away. When I found that out it made more sence to me in a wierd way.

I think the reason people are starting to discover him is that they've never heard him before. Thanks to YouTube, now we can. And, we can do our own sifting (rating) of players, rather than the music execs who put out the records.

The music says it all. Am looking for words to say something about Hank (Henry) Mobley. First thought: HE HAS IT. He got the touch, the sound, the writing. He is my number ONE favourite tenor player, although people can write and talk what they want about Rollins, Coltrane, Brecker etc. etc. They all play good and have there own style. But Mobley is my MAN.
