That's a bit of an exaggeration. This year the big walk passed by my work and the media estimates are between 15-20,000, and I would certainly agree with the 15,000. Orangeism is a dying breed in Scotland. In my fathers day, the Orangemen filled the entire formation they walked in, rather than the perimeter they now occuppy. These big walks appear to be the swan song of the order in Scotland, one last hurrah if you like for the bigoted minority to celebrate their cultural heritage.

orangeism is on the up since 2000 and numbers prove this with membership. Like in Northern Ireland more and more young men join pipe and flute bands instead but join the orange later in there 30`s and 40`s.
