The North Pole was supposed to be "ice free" this summer. This prediction failed miserably.
And this is the nature of the entire manmade global warming hypothesis. It is flawed from the word 'go'. It is a farrago of poor science pushed by incompetent people, and kept alive by dishonest scientists and politicians who have financial interests in mind.

2008 Arctic summer receding is slowing down rapidly.
It will take a real miracle for 2008 receding to surpass 2007. And there still is even no official word that the Northwest Passage has opened this year, i.e., the Prince of Wales straight and the McClure Straight of the Northwest Passage are impassable without icebreakers!
Also, this profoundly absurd prediction of an "ice-free North Pole" is an abysmal failure.

FINALLY, as the evidence became too overwhelming for any reasonable and informed person to ignore "we" get it. We understand that our future generations' habitat will degrade all the more if we don't alter our behavior.
We must move to sustainable living. What's the alternative? Something that's not sustainable? That is NOT a rational option.

I do value goodness and morals, but far to often in the effort do do good the truth is diluted with fantasy. You cannot allow emotion and feel-good morals to interfere with the brutally complex and important issues.
You also cannot go into a science based on observation and be expecting a certain result, because expectations dictate results no matter how subtly, this has been proven over and over again. Im sure Al Gore wants to do good, but he is blind to data by his belief in global warming.
