Playing along to ZZ Top Cheap Sunglasses backing track from guitarbt.com. I don't know who created this backing track.. whoever you are, thank you!! it was excellent. The backing track comes with vocals, rhythm guitar bass and drums. The solo which I learned to play many years ago is the studio version. The guitar btw is an Ibanez JS 1200(sounds pretty good for how light it is.. hardly weighs anything).
I recorded directly into a micro BR recorder. The guitar sound is from a cheap virtual effects package called JamLab. Sounds like crap on my Vista laptop but on the old xp laptop with the old Jamlab CD drivers (if you update the drivers from JamLab website the sound turns to crap)it sounds pretty good for a $39 headphone gadget.
ZZ Top's Cheap Sunglasses is from their 1979 album Deguello. (wikipedia quote..)"Degüello" means "no quarter" (as in "no surrender to be given or accepted--a fight to the death") in Spanish and was the title of a Moorish-origin bugle call used by Mexican forces at the Battle of the Alamo, Texas, in 1836.
