At 6:33 Efren shoots the 7 ball into the corner with from what I can see is low on the cue ball (draw). How does his cue ball react with so much follow to get on the 8? I've rewound it 10 times and I can't figure it out.

One thing I have noticed about Reyes is he always seems to address the cue ball towards the bottom...But I believe he actully stuck with cue ball with upper righthand. I could be wrong Im no pro or anything but Im just going on what I have noticed.

he had an angle so he aims little bit low mid bottom of the cue ball with a soft hit and it will follow a little.like bustamante he aims low alot even if theres a follow shot. its because he can see the object ball better and he relies on his unique stroke.i could be wrong but thats how most filipinos play

yeah most philipino players address the cue from the bottom first , that gives them the exact center of the cue on the y-axis and then hey give it the intended english on the last stroke

By the way that cue reacted Lanman I believe it was stroked with a tiny bit of follow, by the speed at which Efren played that stroke there is no way that a cue ball stroked with low english would have went forward in that way.

nah! how come efren is so lucky?
there no one in the world that what you say is so lucky! efren meant his shot even though sometimes he got lucky! he is so humble he always says i got lucky! but you can see he points or instruct what he will do before he hit it! got it?

You could sure see the level that these guys are at with the duel over the 1 ball on the very first rack--really, the most exciting/impressive playing in the entire match.
Schmidt got cold sitting for so long (Reyes was up for about 4-5 racks, almost steadily). Then, Schmidt choked because he got "cold," and talked himself out of it. You could see him lose his confidence--only because he sat too long.
Except for the few blatant screw-ups, this was STRONG playing from both these guys.

He's just doing his job. It's the fact that the people running sound on the commentators can't figure out how to keep their microphones from picking up the background noise so much... Though the announcer's voice is quite annoying. But, he is Scott "The Shot" Smith so you can't really say much. He isn't known for his voice...

From 2-0 Reyes up to 3-2 Schmidt breaking. There goes my interest in this video. When will the pool promoters figure out that breaking apart matches like that only make people lose interest. Keep doing this and in 20 years pool will be no more popular then it is today (and it is already hurting).
Unfortunately all ... ( 1 week ago by BClub)
Unfortunately all we have is 48 minutes of content time for each one-hour cable show. Something must be cut. If we shorten the races, then people still complain, because the quality of the play decreases.
It's a no win situation.
Don't shorten the ... ( 1 week ago by Stiletos)
Don't shorten the races, simply show the single match in 2 parts if you must. Poker tournaments are doing this all the time. Show the match from 0-0 until 6-4, and then show the second part later. Or you could do as the IPT tried and show parts of many matches being played at the same time, key shots, good outs, in the final 8 on the A-side you could follow each of the 4 matches showing only parts of each of those and in that regard breaking a match up does not make it so discontinuous.
The main key, is in ... ( 1 week ago by Stiletos)
The main key, is in this match you have Schmidt shooting poorly in the start, Efren is playing amazingly well and goes up 2-0 looking like he might run away with it, and suddenly back from break we are at 3-2 with no explanation of the momentum shift that clearly took place in between those 2 time periods. That is an issue, it is like showing a NFL game where a team goes up 14-0 in the first 5 minutes and seems to be dominating, only to come back from break at 14-14 not showing the comeback.
Rest assured, this ... ( 1 week ago by Stiletos)
Rest assured, this can be done ALOT better. There are better ways to present the sport. In reality it would have been better to show quick clips of how Reyes got to 2-0 and then actually showing in more detail how Schmidt fights his way back into the match. You are making the same mistake that snooker did thinking that the centuries are the interesting thing to watch when the opening safety battles to start off each frame are where the true battles of skill and smarts are the most entertaining.
Notice when both ... ( 1 week ago by franscitroen)
Notice when both players were breaking, relatively many times none of the balls where pocketed? Also notice that the 1 ball was not racked on the foot spot on all times! Is that the reason why Reyes started to break even harder for balls to fall in.
Share your opinion please
