They are expensive, but definitely worth the price. I didn't want to spend $15 to $30 on a brush I hated, then go buy another one & see how I liked that, and find out I hate that too! While I am sure there are great kabukis for less, I'd rather buy one that I know is going to be amazing & not have to worry about massive shedding or scratchy bristles, or if it's too firm or too soft...
I hate BE brushes. Mine shed like CRAZY and are way too soft to buff anything properly.

Yeah, i couldn't find it anywhere! The MAC UK site had it, but it was sold out! So, your only hope may be the MAC stores! It's such a great brush, too! The Macy's & Nordstrom sites do not have it either.

you know, you are right...i thought about this all night and i hate spending money on substandard stuff i'd far rather get quality up front, it saves me money in the long run...

I had the same problem with the BE brushes that came with my starter kit, but a friend of mine recommended their Heavenly Face Brush - I picked that up, I think it was $30, and OMG the difference is AMAZING. It's not so stiff, it feels amazing, and it blends really well. I use it for the base foundation instead of the original brushes and I'm so glad I splurged. I'd be interested in that 180 as well though, I love the shape of the handle.

If you want an eyeliner that'll last on the water line, try chanel. Their Stylo Yeux Waterproof lasts an eternity.

if you're on a budget and can't really afford the MAC brushes, what brand would you recommend? I'm looking for something anywhere from 5 to 20 dollars each

Go to your local craft store (Michael's, JoAnn Fabrics, etc) & look for Loew-Cornell & American Painter brushes - yes PAINT brushes! ;p Many are identical to cosmetic brushes, just longer handles.
Print out MAC's web pages with all the cosmetics brushes, then take those pics along with you to the craft store & you can match up all the brushes easily that way. The heads/bristles will look identical to the MAC pictures, so it's easy to pick out brushes that way. Hope that makes sense!

And the paint brushes cost like $2 - $5 apiece in general for the ones most similar to eye shadow brushes, liner brushes etc..
Maxine's Mop and AMM Mini Mop area couple popular ones from Loew-Cornell. There are also a bunch of great ones for liners & stuff.

try the urban decay 24/7 eyeliners they're the best and stays on the waterline for atleast 8 hours based on my experience and i have oily lids and excessive teary eyes sometimes its great product! and i do agree mac 180 is worth the money it's the best ive used
