Infernal Affairs Trailer (English Subtitles)

Video Description:
The setting is the never-ending war between the police and the traids of Hong Kong. Chan is a cop who's been assigned to undercover work inside the traids for so long that he's been able to rise through the ranks to a position of some authority. Lau, meanwhile, is a secret member of the triads who has infiltrated the police force with an equal level of success. As they feed their bosses information on the plans and counter-plans of the organizations they pretend to serve, they both begin to feel the stresses of their double lives as they become torn between the oppressive obligations they owe to their superiors and the growing camaraderie they share with the foot soldiers around them. As the two organizations become increasingly aware of the moles in their midsts, the race is on for Chan and Lau to try and get out of the game alive.

The Departed is a different beast completely. These two films aren't even comparable. They're both excellent films. Infernal Affairs is more stylish, psychological and sentimental, whilst The Departed has better actors (sorry, no Edison Chen means The Departed has automatically better casting), better dialogue and is more visceral.
you really dont
the only that the departed was good because mark walbergs character was awsome.
and no i cant speak chienesse or mandarin either
plus the love triangle was stupid, they should of have a seprate love angle,
martin sheen character was a waste, compare that to IA,
the only good thing was mark walberg
C-H-I-N-E-S-E
Leonardo DiCaprio and Matt Damon is one of the best mainstream actors of the generation, easily equal to Lau and Leung, and Jack Nicholson's got more acting talent in his pinky than the rest of Infernal Affair's cast put together.
Every film buff, and I mean genuine, objective film buff whose exposed to international cinema, whether Asian or white, agrees that Infernal Affairs is at best The Departed's equal.
But no let's just ignore all the criticisms and keep on pretending we're making the most ground breaking thing in the world. The problem with Asian cinema's that there's so many asian priders and wapanese fanboys that even if they make crap--
Call me back when we get an Asian Stanley Kubrik or an Asian Coen Brothers. When that happens I will personally do a video public apology to all of Asian cinema.
You obviously can't argue dialogue since this most people don't understand Cantonese and a significant amount of meaning is lost in translation. I've noticed on more than one occasion the subtitles not truly reflecting on what the actors actually say.
As for plot being critical; take an in-depth look at Indiana Jones 4.
The Coen Brothers have two good movies to brag about, Fargo and No Country for Old Men, compared to the countless other one's that they have produced.
American cinema isn't doing that well either. Rocky 6, Rambo 4 & 5, Indiana Jones 4. Hollywood is running out of ideas fast, so they're turning to comic books. Don't get me wrong, I loved Ironman and Hulk, but where's the originality?
