Vasco da Gama's Voyage of Discovery - 50-min Documentary

Uploaded by: journeymanpictures
Video Description:
Nov 1998
A stunning epic re-tracing the steps of this Portuguese explorer's intrepid voyage to India, which was borne out of a desire both to trade, and to spread the word of Christianity. From Mossel Bay to Mozambique, and finally to India, his fascination with Africa spawns baptisms, conversions, alliances of convenience. It was a voyage that would change the world into one trading village. Revisiting these Places, we offer a visual feast chronicling an amazing journey.

And 11 Eleven Cities in North Africa for almost 300 years. And West Southsaharian Africa.
When English didn´t past beyond Iceland and Greeland(maybe even Ireland shores) in many voyages, or when Nederlands was a Roman-Germanic and Spanish Province, Portugal have the first Global Empire of History from Brazil to Japan and to Moluccas and Timor(in Northern Australian seas).
But here anyone disrespet the great Empires that followed the Portuguese and Spanish 200 years and 300 years after.

In the old times ... ( 1 month ago by McPruden)
In the old times many discoveries were made by watching the bird migrations. The Azores, Madeira and Canary islands were discovered this way.
From azores there are birds migrating to America, so they knew there was land in the other side. Colombo was married with a portuguese woman, and he lived a few years in the Azores...
Now about Australia... from Timor (portuguese arrival in 1512) there are also birds migrating to Australia.
