Cool, thanks for making a video, I've been bugging a guy at work that used to be a pattern maker in the Navy about how to do casting, but the video explained much better then he did :)

Thank you for the nice words. We have been brainstorming on how to make an interesting boat building video. Most are just too dry and might be of interest to pros but not necessarily to the average person. Anyway thanks. Kurt

very well organized video. i looked everywhere for info and have watched this 3 times now. i finally built my furnace, but need info on the burner. yours looks simple. can you share the info on the burner details ? anyhow kewl looking pieces you made! sue

Hi Sue,
Thanks for the compliments. It was a fun video to make and of course its all in the editing. As far the burner details, I would work with Woodenboat Magazine as they furnished me with the info at a course that I took there. I don't know if there are any restrictions on the desing but they can put you in touch with the instructor. Good luck and happy casting. Kurt

Thanks for the compliments. We had a lot of fun doing the video. There are always fume problems especially if using recycled bronze as I do. That's why I did it in my big shop with the doors wide open and a fan blowing as well. Water quench was just so we could handle the product quickly and yes it is a propane jet furnace with fan forcing air to it. Quite simple. Kurt
