Great little vid. so many people dont know the history of our town and i love it. so much going on in it and around it to see. I got GWR stmped on my bum, both my grandads worked there. film some more!!!!

I agree, brilliant and Interesting video, it has brought back many memories of Swindon for me.
Most of my family work for GWR. My grandad, my great grandad, my great uncle and even my mum work for GWR.
I always remember the hooter that stood on the verge of St Mary's grove, then all the workers would come home for dinner.

Thanks for your positive comments. People slag off Swindon all the time but belive me there are worst places you can live. A lot worse. If you are interested in the DVDs of this series you can pick them up from The Tourist Information Centre in the Bunel.

cool i will. You are right ppl do slag off Swindon, i mean im from Brighton orignally. Some parts in Brighton are pretty rough. I was from Moulescoomb, north moulescoomb.

I live here and work here and love it. Not sure I can stand the music on this video though! I hope this latest wave of demolition to hit Swindon Town Centre will result in something a bit better than what they did 30 or so years ago. I have high hopes that come 2015, the Town Centre will be a nice place to go!
