Could you imagine actually being there to watch this? In 1964? It's a testament to how timeless Dolphy is that he's still mindblowing to listen to now more than forty years later, even after our ears have been well broken in by everything that's followed, but back then...?!

Unbelievably good, Dolphy is the king.
So sad too - 'Sometimes I cover for Eric cuz he's going someplace.' He meant that Dolphy was leaving the band to stay in Europe, but of course he died there just 2 months later.
