Heh, I was thinking the exact same thing. I could imagine loads of people thinking what's this crap about 'Every boy, is a snake is a lily' and why does she keep on banging on about how salty someone's sweat is?. Perhaps something a little less off-the-wall like All Is Full Of Love would have been less risky a performance.
It's incredible how she doesn't seem to be affected by the enormous crowd at all (a billion viewers including television?), even given the fact that she is a performer.

This song was written exclusively for the Olympics opening ceremony reaper. But elvair and Mary are right...lots of people there were scrutching their heads a bit. I'm Greek and even though Bjork has lots of Greek fans, she should have considered the rest in the crowds who were wondering what she's on about. To be honest I would have prefered Kate Bush to do a song for the opening ceremony.

She was required to lip-sync this by the people overseeing the ceremony... something about technical difficulties and the risks of singing live in such an enormous event. She's against lip-syncing.

the song's theme is that everyone comes from the ocean, and therefore 'Every boy, is a snake is a lily' as originates from the water.
and that's also why our sweat is "salty", (evidence of the ocean)
personally think is the most meaning olympics theme song ever. it doesnt just assert the notion of friendship. it explains it, beautifully

I didn't know what she was talking about at first, but I at least enjoyed her beautiful voice and the music. It's a fitting performance in my opinion. It adds to the whole ethereal feeling of the olympics.
