She is perform a dance routine. She is still beautiful and very sensual. She does incorporate the "shimmy" movement.

even if its not the original way of bellydancing, but its still a way of it, and what she does is GREAT!
there are many kinds of music to bellydance on, nowadays u can bellydance at any kind of music..so why care about the movements if its original or not?! its about the sensuel moovements to be one with the music rhythm

Bellydance is using your belly, your hips, your arms, and all that.. so who cares if she doesn't stick to a "traditional" style, it still is bellydance because she is using all of those movements. Oh and it would boring if every bellydancer danced the same. But anyways, why does "Bellydance" necessarily have to be a certain way? Just using the movement with your emotions and the passion is good enough. You don't have to design the dance to fit the so called styles, hell make your own style.

I know, it is hard to bellydance while wearing heels, I've done it alot, so imagine how much better she could be without the shoes.

I got into belly dance in 2001 when a troupe came to my school during an Arabic and Muslim culture and arts event. The dancers were awesome and I got to know the principle dancer/head of the belly dancing studio. I was under the impression that Egyptian and Turkish women are allowed to show skin and that many belly dancers aren't as svelte as the ones you see on tv. And there are other ME dances that are similar and just as beautiful/entertaining but with the dancers all covered up.
