He does his magic on contrasts. Bitter-sweet feeling. Lovely melody, but sad face. Gorgeous women, but not timeless. It's lust and sex and Gates Of Love - all you long for - ready and ripe for you, but "Where's the beef?" Is your body really you? No. "You" must be much bigger. Your body is too small and insignificant to really contain YOU. Cohen sees it, feels it, he's blinded by the lights of Closing Time. Yet he's powerless in his submission to the Awful Truth. This is a fantastic video and a great Cohen song. I've loved Leonard most of my life. He is a treasure and I'm so glad he is ours. He looks like he's having so much fun in this video. Beautiful voice. Hell to pay when the fiddler stops? Indeed! :-}

i don't think there are many Artist left like Leonard Cohen the guy's genius but i thought it sucked how he refused to get filmed at Glastonbury. It's like when Dylan refuses to put the big screens on at his shows when he's probably gettin half a million for a show. Im sure it would be different if they had not made it so easly
