Why don't you say 9/11 a few more times. Mentioning my children, nazis, or a number of other triggers is all you people think should be necessary to end a 'debate' on these issues. "What about the children!". You know what, I am thinking about my children. We are LESS safe and MORE vulnerable, and our freedoms have been diminished to boot. Talk about letting the terrorists win.

YRM: this mentality is the same one that supported the locking up of Japanese Americans in WW2. We literally rounded them up and put them in concentration camps. Sure you can. We are talking about the way in which government may deal with people they consider a threat to national security. The American way (in theory) is to put a neutral third party between the government and its target to determine if it has the right to incarcerate the individual. If you have a problem with that, or don't seem to understand it, you can consult the founders.
You clearly do not understand the fundamentals behind this system, and why it was implemented.

Well, enemies to whom? The government or the people? Why assume their interests are the same? How can you be so sure the government ONLY locks up the evil people? You think they will not abuse this right?
You give unchecked power to people and you should expect them to abuse it. And you should expect them to tell you its for your own good. No government would ever shrink itself or deny an offering of power. Most times, they probably sincerely believe it's in the best interest of the country.

ok here are the facts yes FACTS:
- govt did not lie to us about wmds, bad intel screwed us up
- we dont attack terrorists for their oil im paying 4.50 at the pump mainly bc we dont get enough oil from our middle eastern allies espc. iraq, we attack them bc they pose a threat to our safety

Its seems we are not going to get through eachother. More than anything I hope you support the troops as much as I do. I think we can come to an agreement there. More than half the country and troops dont want to be in iraq because of this unconstitutional or unjustified war that had nothing to do with 9/11. More than 90,000 iraqui civilians have been killed including innocent people and children. More than 4000 troops have died. Our military is stressed out and dimishing.
