omg I am so very disapointed in the comments i am reading. What have we become, that we as humans would say such mean things to someone else, someone with a disablity, someone trying to help us understand them more. I am so thankful for this insight on how people with autism think and feel, i need to know because my 3 1/2 year old son has autism. I am just so shocked and I hope no one ever says mean things like this to and about my child...Very sad and disapointed in Oklahoma..Cheri

if this was your child, you would NOT wish such a terrable thing on them...I hope you never have a child with a disablity. I think that would be SAD for your child. people with autism are not as hateful and mean as you are. they don't have that hatefullness in them...so, guess that makes them better then you...Cheri

It's easy to become disappointed in people when you look around on the net; that's because everyone is willing to say anything without their face showing. I'm from oklahoma too, and I've met my fair share of good hearted people. A lot of these people's comments you read should be disregarded. They need time to mature, like a good wine. This video was great by the way, and very intriguing. : )

while i do have compassion for what has happened to you. I do not think that Autistic Pride is a sham. while there are some parents who may decide to call their kids Autistic just because they gave in to their tantrums when they were two. Some of us are truly aspies and auties. And we work to get where we are.
And trust me, lashing out does not help on the internet, it only makes things worse (except for maybe, Maybe dealing with a serious troll)

What you're talking about would be super powers which is absurd. If we were to use 100 percent of our brain on a conscious level, we would have to EVERYTHING with conscious thought. We would have to send the electric signals to feel, etc. It would be to much to do without subconscious actions. The phrase "we only use 10 percent of our brains" should be reworded, in my opinion.

ok this 10% stuff is crap. Only 10% of the brain is made up of neurons, neurons do all of the information processing which occurs in the brain, but they can't feed themselves, they can't dispose of waste, they can't get their own oxygen. They basically can't do anything except process information, but to provide for basic needs the other 90% of the brain, which is not made up of neurons is made up of Glia cells. Glia act as life support for the neurons, but they can't process any information.

Okay you don't understand I take it. Okay, for an example: Blinking is an involuntary movement, our brain does it for us. If we used 100 percent of our brains with conscious thought, blinking, and all involuntary movements would become voluntary. We would have to move the electric signals to feel pain and pleasure ourselves. Understand, now?

Arn't cells self sustaining aslong as they have a blood supply, basically food and oxygen? Biology isn't my strong point, I have aspergers syndrome so I'm interested in astronamy and physics, I'm just saying how I thought it worked :)
