You're asking if you can use iTunes with the new Nano? Yes, of course. If you have boot camp and don't mind booting into Windows do sync your Zune, then sure, it's a viable alternative. Maybe a year from now Microsoft will have a Zune OS X client - you never know!

iPods only last a year? Since when? I still have a 20gb 3rd gen iPod that I bought in 2003, thing still works flawless and the battery is even still good. I also have countless other iPods that are 2-3 yrs old, all working perfect. I think you're wrong as well about iTunes, especially about it being ugly, but thats just preference. Nothing wrong with Zunes, I just think they don't come near the experience on iPods, all they do is watch and wait for Apple to make a move and then closely follo

yeah stupid teens out there just buy ipods because they have no knowledge about music devices such as the Zune. but as goes for the sales, ipod are obviously winning the competition right now, only because of popularity, not quality.

I have one of these new 8gigs and it works like a charm, it really is a beutiful device and i would recommend it to anyone any day over an ipod nano or ipod classic. The only thing that bothers me is the fact that microsoft made it incompatible with apple products.

let me remind you that Zune and the 2nd Generation Nano came out nearly at the same time, the 2nd generation did NOT have as nearly as much features as the Zune did. since then, apple has come out with 2 new generations with just a little bit more of features, but zune hasn't updated any players yet besides more memory. If Zune did, it would have been superior to the newest ipod.

You connect the Zune to your PC, and using the Zune software, browse to your Zune and delete the contents by selecting the item and pressing delete. There's also a "purge all content" option in the settings.

Microsoft didn't make it incompatible with OS X (I assume that's what you mean by "Apple products"), they just haven't made it compatible yet - there's a big differences between the two.

I haven't tried the V-Moda earphones - myself, I use Ultimate Ears, but they're quite a bit more expensive. Earphones are highly subjective, so I suggest you buy the Zune headphones from someplace that has a good return policy and you can return them if you don't like them.
