I myself prefer Haneys physique over Bertil Fox's or Jay Cutlers for that matter. Mostly due to the tiny waist. However, as you pointed out his physique does have alot of weak points, such as the legs and arms. I would pick Arnolds physique (or Serge Nubrets for that matter) over Haneys any day.

Yes, well I liked Fox but most definately NOT Cutler. Arnold (with relatively wide-waist) still MILES ahead in his prime. Nubret,yes.
And if you prefer the wasp waisted guys like Nubret and Haney then consider the fact that Robby Robinson had an even better lat-waist taper than either & infinitely better arms, with good quads and similar calves never won one Sandow, not one.... when you (objectively) analyse the Olympia results over the last 30 years you learn the best body will SOMETIMES win.

so damn true. its sad too. basically if a pro kisses weiders ass and reps his shit theyre gonna do well, not necessarily saying they'll win, but they'll definitely up their chances. the only exception would maybe be ronnie coleman. theres just no way they couldve denied his physique for todays standards.

A sign of things to come. Haney, no more than pecs and back, gets a 3rd place gift, in front of 5th place Bertil Fox who destroyed him in every pose - particularly side chest and front & back double biceps. Fox made Haney look like an intermediate.

Haney made definite improvements from 1983 to 1984. Arms weren't the biggest but from 1984 and on his thighs and calfs came up a few notches. As for Bertil Fox he was huge but again bodies like Fox rarely do well in top competitions. He's just big but not put together very well.
