smackrightdown. That's a simplification & deflection of blame.The problem was created by Democrats who fought against regulation of Fan Mae and Fred Mac. Prez & McCain both on record trying to get regs. A fed reg committee tried, too, U can see that vid(on youtube) & see Dems (including Franks) arguing against it.Dems would have used racism against Repubs on this issue you can bet. this is a great point,
as a conservative(not a republican) i am out-raged over henry paulson's handling of the current economic crisis. the republicans didn't learn anything from the 2006 elections.
if you run on being fiscally conservative and then govern in an exact opposite fashion you can't be surprised when your base stops supporting you.

hhn: actually, your explanation is an exaggeration of reality. Only 20% of subprime loans were under CRAs & GSEs. So, how can all the blame be put on Mae/Mac? That's a cop out. Practically every economist with any credibility puts the main cause of the financial crisis on DEREGULATION. Which we all know is a root ideology of the GOP. Having to go back against their own ideology is an admission of failure.

I was really happy to see that Governor Palin in Southern California today or yesterday turned out a huge crowd, standing room only, and that the local leader of the NOW organization gave her introduced her to the crowd and & declared her to be a true feminist. That's wrong.Libs are trying the blanket indictment of Reps but u shld see th videos proving specifically Democrats who FOUGHT AGAINST DEREGS of FM AND FM. While Repubs generally prefer dereg they specifically called for it on these 2 & one committee had a hearing in which Franks and other Dems fought vigorously against it,got angry,implied tht unless one could PROVE some wrong doing "it doesn't need it" ignoring the concept of deregging ws to prevent abuses.
