True Democracies are actually more closely related to Communism than they are to our Republic form of government. The meanings of both words have been blurred over time--Communist Republic of China.

Yeah just compare it to communism. A Republic is a democracy. It allows choice for most actives that don't effect others in a negative way (except on some issues such as gay marriage which should be changed) while protecting minority rights to speech, religious views, or whatever else that hurt no one else. The US is a democracy and the word democracy has nothing to do with Communism.

Just look at the definition of democracy. Franklin was referring to direct democracy with no constraints on majority tyranny. There is a difference. The US can be called a democracy because it is a democracy. It is correct to also call it a Republic which is a more specific classification.

Johnny Cash is rolling over in his grave. He would never support RP. JC was a kind and compassionate soul who cared for the working class & downtrodden. His roots are socialist & he grew up on a gov-sponsored commune. The feds saved the Cash family thru collective economics & socialism. (cont.)

i live in the UK but i will be flying into USA to support Ron Paul in Washington on July 12th 2008.
i do not want to be in the position to tell my kids that i had a chance to make a change and sat on my fat ass & did nothing.
a few hundred bucks in flights and a few days off work are nothing compared to the time and effort Dr. Ron has given to OUR service in his 20 years in congress.
why not use your tax rebate to finance the trip? Put that Bush bribe money to good use
