Our basic freedoms being impinged upon everyday by excessive government regulation and bureaucracy. Whether it's the Federal Elections Commission threatening our first amendment rights by threatening online speech under the guise of McCain-Feingold, the federal government threatening our second amendment liberties by enacting gun control laws, or the government threatening our basic right to private property by seizing property using eminent domain; the continued governmental abuses of our constitutional freedoms is an ongoing problem.

I think Gilmore is referring to the rights you actually HAVE under the Constitution, not the entitlements liberals might want. I can't find "reproductive rights" in my copy of the Constitution -- must have gotten a defective copy.

The Constitution is not about limiting the rights and freedoms of the American people. It was designed as a system by our founding fathers to limit the power of the government to infringe upon the individual's rights. The Bill of Rights says explicitly that "the enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people." Thus, the federal government has no jurisdiction over my uterus.

Tell me this, Mr. Gilmore-- you talk about infringement of liberties, how you want to end them-- but isn't it YOUR party that instituted the Patriot Act? Furthermore, what right do you have to impose your religious beliefs on a government founded on the principle of a separation of church and state? Protecting rights, my ass.

Also, your feelings towards such situations as the Odyssey Marine Exploration issue taking place in Gibraltar over the past 24 hours (7/12/-7/13) how would you help to resolve such the crisis?
and sir I do believe the 2nd Amendment has brought nothing but tragedy to the US this past year especially with VT and many more attacks.

Why is there a special tax for guns? Get rid of the gun tax. There should be NO gun control laws, the government should not have the right to steal people's property, freedom of speech should not be infringed! More freedom, smaller government!

The republicans in this case are the lesser of two evils. Democrats tend to restrict guns, raise taxes, and redistribute wealth to people who literally do nothing but sit around and have children. Entire generations of people have packs of children at the expense of the taxpayer who in turn grow up and have more children. Every free thinker should fear the democrats far more than the republicans.

Civil "rights" are not the same thing as inalienable rights. Civil "rights" are contractual privileges you receive when you surrender your sovereignty to become a United States "citizen" (14th amendment corporate franchisee).
