Video Description:
As an American, I became aware that Democratic Socialism is looked on in a completely different light here than it is in the rest of the world.
It is not well understood in the United States, and even the WORD socialism is a taboo to be involved with.
I made this video to try and show Americans what it was. And make them aware that it is NOT communism, and that Democratic Socialist and Social Democratic parties are very numerous in Europe. In fact, most American's would not know that the Labour Party of the UK, the current majority party, is actually a Social Democratic Party, part of the "Socialist International", the largest international political organization.

What's happening in the USA? Socialism is unknown to the masses. Americans on the whole group socialism with communism. Misinformation is a weapon. I was born here I've lived here my entire life and never have I ever seen socialism discussed through the media, to do so would be unheard of. We are however sick and tired of our government, a revival of the 1960s is eminent. Hopefully with more results a second time around.

I don't really know so much about it because I haven't read the book, but I see communism as the biggest error anyone who had genuily interest in equall justice has ever thought up. It ruined the basic idea which only was about equall justice, not equallity by being all alike, that is what capitalism really fosters up. When everybody have equall rights and oppurtunities then we have reached the socialistic goal. You can't create freedom by force ....

I base my oppinion on what others who have read the manifesto says about it, it's not as good as reading it but I feel I have recived the basic idea. Socialism cannot be created in a noraml democratic country, so you need a revolution, a violent when as proscribed by communism, then you bring about socialism.
Well, I live a scandenavia and we have come a long way in establishing a socialistic democraty. Especially here in Norway, allthough we are not there yet, we are at least stable.

I hope you know that communism is just a branch in the large socialist ideaology tree. This video mostly shows suport to socialdemocracy/democratic socialism. The nordic nations have hade alot of socialdemocratic goverments and Iceland and Norway are the topp 2 nations to live in acording to the HDI. Maybe you in the USA should take a lesson from the nordic states?

Bout' the whole goverment issue; I see the goverment as a tool of the people, and should be used to counter every form of of attack on our freedom, be from within the goverment itself or from private interests elsewere.
We need it as a tool, but it should at the same time be controlled by other institutions, and lucky as we are, that's extacly how it is done here, with the triunity principle of our goverment, parlament and Court.
The path is clear, and we can keep on.

Socialism to me is a tipping point between capitalist ideology and communism (since capitalism is an economic system and communism a social one). There are ways of intertwining each of them. For example, on the universal healthcare, make medical savings accounts, that the gov. will pay a percentage of it based on income, for everyone like 401k's and IRA's, so they can afford the benefits of privatized healthcare while not having the slow service that many Canadians and Europeans suffer.

Countries like Norway and Sweden are also the least corrupt in the world, while America is number 18 on that list.

almost no one in history ever wanted socialism, it was almost always forced on the people like china for instance. now there is the prottypical socialist state. a place where they birth children just to the shoulders, and then scramble their living mind with a pair of scissors because you have more than one child, or where they load political dissidents into vans that can harvest their organs on the way to the airport so the rich can have spair parts. yeah but its for our good right?? yeah right

no dude,the difference between DSocialism and Capitalism is not in Dictatorship and Democracy,but in more welfare and mixed economy,that's why I said it is reformed from Capitalism.
