WRONG, it was the wearing of a red bandanna by the earliest coal miners in a shooting war with W. Virginia coal mine owners in their first strike. It was sign for other miners not to shoot as they worked for the first unions to be formed in West Virginia. Rednecks were the first union organizers for the coal miners union.

Except Obama did not "flip flop" because he had never made a "pledge" not to accept the federal $. Obama had said he would try to work out something with McCain and he couldn't. The reporting saying he had "promised" is false.

Every one of those so-called "news journalists" is a plain hypocrite when they use the word "flip flop." First, they can't even tell whether something is a change in position. Second, either they accept that a person can change their position or not. They act like a change is bad. Everyone knows if circumstances change then a postion can change. It is the journalists duty to report on whether the claim of changed circumstances is valid, not to demand that no change be allowed.

Also, poor Obama supporters. They've been reduced to parsing his words and then relying on the meaning of "is".

It doesn't make sense to me why so many people would get on Obama about wanting to use more money for his campaign but barely even notice that McCain and Bush and everyone other influential Republican changes their positions on things all the time. Wanting to use more money in your campaign is a whole lot less of an issue than global climate change, I would think...
