Rickee Lee Jones with Larsen & Feiten - Youngblood & Weasel

Uploaded by: FeitenFan
Video Description:
I didn't see this on YouTube yet, so, here is Ricke Lee Jones from her first tour with Niel Larsen & Buzzy Feiten in the band. I believe this is from the Old Grey Whistle Test in London in 1979.

Yes, it is Reggie McBride. Buzz does move while playing, I remember him on David Letterman sitting in with the Paul Schafer band for about a month and whenever he played he was all movement. That was a TV talk show and you only got to hear the band on the fade in & outs to commercials (adverts)but it was cool. No VHS recorders out yet so I couldn't tape it unfortunatley

The hands are the key. I realized this when I saw Bloomfield on Chip Monk's SpeakEasy show with Avin Lee. Alvin played a Les Paul and sounded like Alvin (not my favored tone), Bloomfiled picke up the LP, did not touch anything, and......sounded just like Bloomfield with that light, fast touch. It was that that really drilled home "it ain't the equipment, it's the player".

Thanks for the kind comments on Buzz's playing. Even though I cannot read Japanes the positive vibe comes through :-)

I think the drummer is Art Rodriguez. He played with Buzz and Neil in a band called Full Moon way back when.

Is it Rickee playing Larsen and Feiten or Larsen and Feiten playing Rickee? They both play off each other in this one---if you don't know her-watch this one-a good way to see all her eccentric ways---she's a queen!
You are right about ... ( 2 months ago by blueyesfaery)
You are right about her enunciating, but I think that's one of her "things" that make her what she is...she kind of drawls out her words with a quirky sneer. When I discovered her (many moons ago...lol) it was HER I liked most, the band was secondary. So I would imagine its either her or the band that's your favorite or both like you commented. Either way, once you hear them, you can't go back, can you? Together they are a team, and you cannot deny that. At least we agree there. :)
