Ed seems to ... ( 1 year ago by Radiostar66)
Ed seems to understand the core issues in a genuine and committed way. I look forward to a realistic, pragmatic, and sustained drive to improve education - without grinding us teachers into the ground. Standards work is far more important than structures, including time and help for teachers to develop and improve their practice. Congratulations Ed an a great start - now let's see what you can deliver, and let's all enjoy the ride.

Although learning in an ideal world would be personalised, it actually doesn't work very well in a classroom, because the teacher can't spread himself/herself that thinly; they all start playing up. Children do pretty well in lockstep and the teachers can do better if they have group targets rather than trying to match different targets to all of the learners (this takes ages) and then trying to assess whether they have met them all!!
