The 'Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps' is the largest organization defending the holy soil of Iran. Its volunteering militia 'Basij' claims to consist of 15 million martyrs with a spiritual readiness for death.
The trained units of the IRGC are geared towards asymmetric warfare and less traditional duties. Operations range anywhere from political assassinations to demolishing vital targets.
