guys im reaching out for some reassurance...Seeing as trey was arrested again in january and if and when he graduates his program he will be sentenced to 5 years of probation...does that mean he stillc an't leave the state or tour? Does anyone know? I am in love with phish and unfortunately i missed the wave so i will always hope but if anyone KNOWS the deal please respond. Something id like to know. Thanks

I wouldn't mind Phish, but the fans overrate Trey so much. I've played guitar for near 10 years, and Trey is definitely not one of the "greatest" ever as his fans will claim. Sure he's good, but he's not a god. He knows a lot fo scales and theory etc.., but not terribly creative. And I'm not even gonna go into how generic the vocals are and how terrible the lyrics are.
By the way, I believe he listens to "Machine Gun" by Hendrix before every concert.

i absolutely love phish. there are guitarists better then trey. however, the diversity that phish spans goes w/out saying. crossing over genres. it's not formulated and surely isn't stuck in one genre. did hendrix ever dabble with bluegrass at his shows? cover some toots? perhaps fall into some classical arrangement? or jimmy page (sloppy live), clapton, allman, vai, etc? just respect someone for taking chances not having to sit there continuously and masterbate a la their instrument.

Really? Pretty sure every jam band does blue grass. And their classical arrangements are great too. You know what he does to change genres? He learns the scale associated up that genre, and lays down a boring ass jam in that scale, strikingly similar to his other jams. Is Jimmy Page sloppy? Yes, but he's more interesting than Trey. All the other guys are loads more interesting than Trey, except Vai (Amazing at guitar, but boring to listen to). Trey just isn't that creative and interesting

for starters, steve vai is a wanker. and jimmy page is one of my fav guitarists after allman and buckethead. however, as a unit the improvisational aspect of phish was far more diverse then the hendrix experience, band of gypsy's, cream, zepellin, , santana, just admit you dont like trey or phish in general. i hope phish gets back together, until then you can listen to jimmy page collaborate with puff daddy. and oh yes jimi hendrix is over rated.how about another tour with the monkees?

Hendrix is overrated? Doesn't matter that Machine Gun is considered the greatest electrical guitar performance ever. Trey listens to it before every show, so Trey might disagree with you there. I don't know what to classify Hendrix as since he used so many different styles playing but made them sound like HIS OWN STYLE, which Trey doesn't do very well.

He's the most innovative and original guitarist, ever.
