filmdude, in an ... ( 1 month ago by NoGuff)
filmdude, in an ideal situation, you're absolutely right. But this is the real world, and guns aren't allowed on flights. So considering that, I'd prefer that even the bad guys who will get guns no matter what are stopped at the terminal with whatever weapons they have.
I'll take a page from "the Big Man's" page and say that every passenger should be issued a baseball bat upon boarding. That way, any trouble is dealt with, and no windows are shot out.
Why are these ... ( 1 month ago by wrader2001)
Why are these X-Rays needed to stop guns? Guns are very easy to spot. I think we just need to pay the people at the terminal more so we can get the best people for the job.
If anyone ever tries to hijack a flight I'm on, I'm pulling a Pennsylvania Flight 93 and putting those creeps out of commission! I'm not going to sit around and watch people get hurt.
Don't forget about ... ( 1 month ago by libertyeconomics)
Don't forget about that other TSA project: the no-fly list. That is an East German-style travel restriction and has nothing to do with stopping terrorists. Why would a known terrorist be told he/she cannot fly? It is for political dissidents, people who owe back taxes to the IRS, and can be to prevent other people from flying (e.g., somebody late on a mortgage payment).

"Why are these X-Rays needed to stop guns?"
--Rifles are easy to spot. Pistols are not. To find one you need to frisk someone or put them through the xray. Also there are a lot of plastic or ceramic guns that dont show up in xrays the same as steel ones. Some guns can fit in your palm.
"I'm not going to sit around"
--The airlines will actually tell you to cooperate with the hijackers. But Im with you. Like I said, every passenger should get a complimentary bat. The problem then solves itself.

"It is for political dissidents, people who owe back taxes to the IRS"
--That's bullshit. I owe back taxes but I guarantee you I'm not on the 'no-fly' list.
Please stop with the "Bilderberg runs our government" Leftist bullshit.

First of all, I didn't mention a word about the Bilderbergers. I am talking about travel restrictions. I am sorry you are so unamerican, you don't give a damn. You are being to concrete in your thinking (i.e., just because YOU aren't on the no-fly list, then it isn't real). It is real. You realize if somebody is behind on child support they can't even get a passport? If you can't get a passport, the government doesn't even need to put you on a list.

"I didn't mention"
--No, but that's where you're coming from.
"then it isn't real"
--Gee, is that what I wrote? I can't find it.
"if somebody is behind on child support they can't even get a passport?"
--I don't know about that, but I'd imagine that's about the govt doing something after 10 million complaints about deadbeat dads so they can't skip the country.
"If you can't get a passport"
--You think that's going to prevent people from leaving the country? Just like the handgun ban.

Too bad you don't know how to argue, Guff.
Why would a known terrorist be on a 'no-fly list'.
Think about it. Go ahead, think about it.
ARREST KNOWN TERRORISTS!!!! Don't say, 'sorry you can't fly'.
Give me a break!

"Why would a known terrorist be on a 'no-fly list'."
--Why wouldn't he be? It's not only to prevent them from freely boarding planes, but also to block their progress & their plans. Every little thing helps. If someone's on a no-fly list & they're stupid enough to try to book a flight, then the authorities should be alerted. There you go. A plan in action.
"ARREST KNOWN TERRORISTS!!!! Don't say, 'sorry you can't fly'."
--Ummm...no shit. Better than saying "would you like a pillow today?"
Police brutality is ... ( 1 month ago by paolonutuni)
Police brutality is alive and well in America. The police beat up a girl at Reagan National Airport in DC. They assaulted this girl and gave her a serious brain injury and made her entire body black and blue. Then they arrested HER and charged her with a made up crime to cover up the police brutality. The airport police and TSA are supposed to be there to protect us from terrorists, not beat up women.

Bob is right. I'm a Ron Paul Republican, and I'm going to vote for him. I'm not voting for McCain-Lieberman (denial of my gun rights), or McCain-Feingold (denial of my right to free speech) or Obama Hussein (denial of common sense) Freedom will never happen if we all pledge allegiance to mindless political parties... I'm going to give these Libertarians a chance... I believe that Stephen Gordon really did change Barr's opinion on things...

I find it Ironic that this man who claims to be a Strict Constructionist alludes to the belief in the 'Right to Privacy. ' 'The Right to Privacy' didn't even exist until 1965 see Griswold v. Connecticut. Before 1965, in the entire history of Constitutional jurisprudence, the Federal Government was not barred from things like warrantless wiretapping.
Griswold v. Connecticut is widely cited as one of the stalwart examples of judicial activism

We have good men in every part of service, whether its CIA, the Millitary, and the Police and definately within the TSA (theres another video on ex members of it) who are men of strong moral CONSCIENCE. Alongside them are men of no conscience as well as with everywhere.
If this is what we have allowed the 9/11 incident to do to us, I'd rather die then live at all because it will only get worse. It wasnt the terrorists in the planes that imposed these kinds of things on the people

if there was a terrorist attack tomorrow.who would this man blame first? seems rather petty and stupid compared to an IED getting on a plane no? I wonder if this man thinks the there are men(radicle muslims) plotting to attacks us now or if they just said..eh hell with it. I wonder if the public would just rather have no security? Your kids, grandkids, sisters, mothers getting on a plane that had 0 security measures in place. I ask what other soultions this man might have to make me safe.

That's standard procedure. Police think they have to charge the victim if the cops cross that line, and it seems that even make ridiculously exaggerated claims and charge with many crimes so that the person will plead down, conviction on which effectively removes their right to sue in some instances! Slick? Yes, but also wrong.
