Yea i did. Power isnt the most important thing in combat or self defense. A .45 with the right ammo can do that. So can my .357 mag. The problem with the desert eagle is, it is an auto loader with a big cartridge. Jams take longer to clear, its blinding in close range, and its to big to handle in CQB. Where as a 1911 or smaller gun would be like movin ur hand. But yes it is quite powerful, It was made for huntin and target shootin. Very accurate weapon.

because of the cartridge size, the grip is also fuckin huge and holding with one hand your thumb is about a quarte inch away from your index finger. talk about control!

wow, he shot watermelons and they exploded. I have no idea how powerful the gun is, though I'm sure it's very powerful considering all the hype. Still how bout we see something with a bit of resistance getting shot rather than waterfilled fruit.

Grip size isnt a problem for me. I got big hands. I held the .44 magnum version. But yea as far as Close quarters self defense shooting(which in the military that is what ur doin with a pistol) you want something that fits your hand like a glove. To small and its innaccurate and to big its worthless because it takes to long to shoot. Forgive me for being a little off(lack of sleep) but i dont know if ur commen is pro DE military weapon or agasint it.

pro! i was pointing out that this is more of an exhibition weapon. although it would be perfect for bodyguards and the like. very intimidating, more so if you know what it is.

It doesnt matter if you know what it is or not. The fact is you cant keep the gun in your hand. Have you ever tried drawing a concealed weapon that size? It is hard enough to pull a long barreled 1911. If you were allowed to carry the gun in your hand then why not carry a shotgun? Or a rifle? The accuracy and power of the DE is nixed by its unrully size in a 5-10 foot engagement. A .45 will put you down just the same and is a MUCH faster draw and easily handled weapon.

obviously a colt 1911 has a quicker and easier draw than a DE and i agree that it is quite useless in close quarters unless already out. plus your arm is numb after like 3 shots. i prefer a beretta 9mm or a glock 7. but if your within 10 ft of a person who draws on you, unless their using a revolver, you can get to them before they can pull the trigger

What I am saying is this. A DE is worthless in close situations. It is a target/hunting weapon. It is not a self-defense/combat weapon. Thats all I am really sayin. The accuracy is for target shooting and hunting where self-defense/combat you need reliability,easy handling,concealability(sometimes), and light weight. None of that is in the DE cattergory. I dont get what revolvers have to do with CQB. Its draw and fire and if ur a body guard u gotta draw faster. Im not a 9mm fan though.

the desert Egal is to powerful. it throws your arm back to much. If in a gun fight that can be fatal because it leaves a opening. It also has a low firing rate. It Is afective if the enemy has a bullet proof vest and the person holding it is strong.

revolver is the fastest drawing weapon in any situation where speed is essential. however, the majority of bodyguards exist less for rarely necessary actual physical protection, and more for an imposing image. thats what i was trying to say about the intimidation of the DE. however if you have a lifestyle where you need fast reliable protection, within 10 ft a knife would suffice(if you know how to use one). any more than that, a .357 magnum or a colt .45

that hand gun is HUGE, but for just 7 bullets per clip when 2 are enough to kill you chest wise, it's a fucking awesome hand gun O_o
