Most Muslim women, but not all wear a head scarf because they believe that God created the body of a woman too beautiful to be displayed to the world and have men gawk and treat women like objects and materialize them, which occurs too often. In this society women are often taken advantage of and raped while in proper Muslim teachings men should not become tempted. Women in Islam are so respected and the reason they wear scarves is because they are put on a pedestal.
