Braces can make you very sick. Share this with your friends. Not being able to breathe is very scary and can be life threatening. I went
to so many doctors and had so much testing. I hope by telling my story I might save even one person from having to live this nightmare. Thankfully,I am well now since mine were removed. I do have braces, and i didnt know that could ever happen.I dont get how you could get an allergic reaction if you already had your braces on for about a year and were fine. But thanks for this video cause i never knew that could happen! : ]

of course, no doctor would ever do something intentionally to hurt u or stop u from living normally ESPECIALLY if you're a kid. and tiff's warning is just a make sure u know the symptoms thing so u can stop em early on and u don't gotta go through the pain she went through. most of the time braces aren't that bad, but some people react differently to different things. so don't worry k? i had braces for 2 years no problems and now i have a retainer i have had since(braces 6th-8th) retainer now

yeah you are. but it's really wierd when you get them on! and it hurts a bit in your teeths, so it's kinda difficult to eat. but you get used to it :) and it's all worth it! trust me

my brother is just about to get braces, so i showed this to him and he's so scared, he says if he ever gets swollen something he'll tell me or my mom right away, because he too scared. he said thx for putting the vid on!

im surprized that none of the doctors in the hospital or that you went to. im surprised none of them mentioned that your braces might be the problem. didnt they see you had braces and maybe your throat or mouth rash had something to so with the braces since the braces were close to your mouth and swollen throat? :( im sorry for you. good thing your better. :)

no... the reason she couldnt breathe and had a rash was cuz she was allergic to latex. not cuz shes a singer. im a singer too and im not dying. lol

was there lead in the metal of the braces?. you should have kept the medal. ( silver fillings have lead in them ) I get composite filling that are white .

in some penut stuff or something and i hope i wont have too go throw all of that i just want my braces and i can where them to school and some of my frends have them and there find and idk what color i should get i got like 4mounths antill i get mine and ill comment back on this video a mounth b/4 i get mine kk:) bye god bless you girl

This seems impossible! I have been working with orthodontics for 5 years now and the only thing that i can think of is her being allergic to latex. The rubber bands that are used to hold in the wire on braces are latex based and that can cause some allergic reaction. Over the past 5 years we have had thousands of patients have braces and i have never heard anything like it.

My orthodontist told me that he has had several people with similiar reactions. And that it is really difficult to pinpoint the exact cause. But it is not the norm. His response was to completely remove them and when he did it gradually went away.
