Shot at Battersea Power Station in England.
The inflatable pig for the Animals cover shoot got over inflated and flew away, later landing in a farmer's field. Apparently it showed up on aircraft radars and some people who saw a pig shaped object on the radar screen were taken in for psychological evaluation lol.

when we went to see pink floyd at earls court (the one the seats fell down) they took us on a bus tour the next day im sure they said some french bloke bought the power station to turn into a sort of euro disney type thing but ran out of money thats why its half pulled down (i could be wrong it was a bit of a messy weekend)

That's correct, Animals is about capitalism and the mannerisms of the populus et al (pigs for the greedy, sheep for fodder and dogs for the mannish). And FYI the powerstation in the backdrop is the Battersea powerstation on the river Thames.

Nothing grabs your attention like a giant flying pig. This is one of my favorite albums from Floyd...I remember seeing The Wall tv commercial and I believe this one to. Great stuff.

Animals was the start of Pink Floyd being a Roger Waters led band and was the darkest album of PF's then 10 year career. Also, the album wasn't well received at the time of its release, critics panned it BIG TIME and radio ignored the album due to the three epics on the album. Dogs was my favorite. It did hit #3 and shipped a million units but sales were a far cry from DSotM and WYWH. However, Animals sounds better now thanks to the remastered CD and sold more in recent years than in 1977.
