You can be as confrontational as you like. We are both big boys. Smoking doesn't make non-smokers dislike you as a human being by the way, it just makes the human being harder to see through the clouds of smelly reeking smog they emit.

I never acccused you of "whinging", and I am very unlikely to go off in a huff... I happen to find you rather endearing and have no malicious or negative thoughts towards you or this exchange.
I tried my first cigarette to seem "cool", I happened to enjoy it. Now almost 10 years on I smoke the equivalent of 3-5 cigarettes per day.

I'm not sure how to take that one, I will assume you meant it literally (obscured vision). Strange though as from this side of the smoke we can still see every other person.
If non-smokers do not dislike us as people, why the "morons" claim?

Re-reading my "happy travels" comment, it seemed to be a parting shot... It wasn't, it was simply a genuine well wishing.
I wasn't having a jab at your use of vehicles, just pointing out that tobacco smoke should be the last pollutant you attack, there are far more worthy targets.
The video seemed to not attack smoking though, the smokers were the target.
RE: public transport, the flatulent make me ill but I am not calling them morons or demanding their removal (yes I'm being faecetious).

I happen to agree that smoking should be curtailed on buses but... Why no separate compartment on trains? Why no smoking room in pubs/clubs? (There used to be but were considered divisive... Oh sweet irony).
Wishing to exercise our right TO smoke, need not infringe on your right to NOT smoke. Why then does your right to NOT smoke infringe on ours?

*Shrug* I am a social smoker-which means that I smoke 0-2 cigarettes on an average day, I usually don't if my friends aren't around. I completely agree with you that people who are smoking don't concern themselves with other people as much, that's why I'm glad smoking is illegal to do inside here in California. No-one should be forced to smell it, that's why I don't smoke if I'm walking down the street or something like that. I don't think it makes you a moron, though.

Moron comes from an old Greek word for folly. To the non-smoker, knowing all the disadvantages of smoking, it seems like folly not to at least try to give up, seeing that some people do give it up successfully.

I was actually much more insulting about the Swiss and their dialect of German than I was of smokers, as for smokers I am only encouraging them to do themselves some good, whereas my criticism of the Swiss German was entirely negative and they can't do anything about it. Nevertheless, no-one has stood up for the Swiss yet. I also dismissed the Chinese (a quarter of the world's population incidentally) as pushy, uncultured and not nice like the Japanese, and nobody has stood up for the Chinese.

Actually yes, when I lived in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Almost everyone there is Chinese, hardly any Canadian people, and they file about rather gracefully I think, for there being such gigantic groups of people walking on one sidewalk, ect.
